J.Leake Born Jamie Leake Sept,1st 1982 in Winston Salem North Carolina, raised in Mount Gilead N.C. a place were you usually don’t make it out, at a early age he knew that reaching people through poetry or entertaining was something that came easy for him, it wasn’t until a 3rd grade teacher told his mom that he would be a great poet oneday,J.Leake would write stories in class for projects and the classmates was all locked in on it, a natural gift for him, he always wanted to make his mother proud, raised in a single parent home he watched his mother be one of the strongest females ever, through tough times he watched her struggle and depend on god each and everyday, after high school graduation, J.Leake took his music more serious, notebooks would get filled with lyrics,freestyling on instrumentals to put on tape, that still didn’t fulfill his hunger, he purchased a keyboard and a drum machine perfecting his craft, through tough times blood sweat, tears, jealousy and envy motivated by everyday life, the streets and his enviroment, 2010 “The J.Leake Movement Ent” was born under the company was a classic mixtape J.Leake Present’s….”28 Gram’s” the mixtape Hosted By Dj Micky D, the the mixtape heated the street’s and the internet up just to leave his fans hungry for more, to show his support and luv for the late Dj Screw J.Leake has now released “28 Gram’s” chopped &Screwed The “Drank & Kush” Edition by Dj Desperado with 2 bonus tracks, while working on another classic mixtape “Respect Me Or Check Me” J.Leake has been busy with other ventures such as “Dream Big Grind Harder” The Magazine with friend and business partner Kesha Collins, the magazine will feature major artist, independent and underground artist, dj’s, producer’s, promoter’s, ceo’s ,athletes, and business owners all over the world, also under the umbrella of “The J.Leake Movement Ent” is “Shoot For The Star’s” which is a non profit organization to give the youth resources that they need to shoot for there dreams and prmoting to them how important education is!
